First and foremost, We would like to thank you for your interest in Delta Sigma Pi (DSP). Our chapter is moving progressively to better serve UL-Lafayette and our community. We have added nine new majors to our recruitment pool which covers the entire university minus the College of Engineering. Below are some of our frequently asked questions.
1.Cost to Join-
DSP fees are very inexpensive compared to our social Greeks at UL. We charge a one-time pledge fee of $136 during the semester you pledge. Then every semester after your pledging semester till you graduate, you will have to pay $80 which covers chapter and national dues. We will be going on quite a few trips this year, but through fundraising we will ease the cost off our brothers and sisters backs.
2. Payment of Fees-
New this year is online pay for our dues. Typically, you have the option to do a payment plan for Pledge Fees and Dues. All dues must be paid within the first 45 days of the start of the semester for active brothers and sisters. Pledges will have to have dues paid by April 6,2014.
3. Will DSP interfere with studies and involvements?
DSP will not interfere with your studies while at UL or at any of our universities. What DSP can do is only better you to prepare our brothers and sisters for these classes by giving you all the opportunity to be tutored by our upperclassmen who have mastered theses classes you all will be taking. As far as involvement, we understand that students are apart of other organizations outside of DSP. That is why we will typically have our semester planned out a semester ahead. We are very flexible with our members, because we realize that allowing them to pursue other organizations betters us as a chapter and it also betters you as a person.
4. Will DSP interfere with joining a Pan- Hellenic Sorority/ Fraternity or any other kind of involvement?
DSP will not interfere with you joining a sorority or other organizations, unless it is a professional fraternity or sorority in the College of Business other than DSP and honorary. Other than that you can join any other organizations, just make sure you make time for us :-) If you are a sorority or fraternity member you can remain active in your other Greek organization, we welcome social Greeks!
5. What type of Fraternity is DSP?
DSP is a professional co-ed business fraternity, while also being social. This means that we are a mixture of both professional and social greek.
